Objective
• To comprehensively and objectively revisit the 1967 Riots in Hong Kong from both local and international perspectives
Methodology
To incorporate different points of view by conducting various interviews with those who were involved in the Riots, and reviewing the decision-making agendas and policy considerations at the governmental level by drawing from historical archives.
Findings
A conference, entitled “Academic Conference on the 1967 Incident”, was held on 26 May 2012 at CUHK.
A paper entitled “1967 Riot and the Cold War” was presented at the conference on “Trans-Pacific China and the Cold War” on 18 – 19 April 2013 at The University of Texas at Austin.
