Background
Since the 1980s, we have tracked the topic through social indicator household surveys. Following the return of Hong Kong and Macao to Chinese sovereignty, the integration of these societies into a greater China has taken on a new aspect.
Objective
• To explore the course and evolution of the process of integration between Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan and mainland China, especially since the start of the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS) policy
Methodology
Since 2012, a series of telephone surveys have been conducted in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
Related Publications
A total of 1 journal paper, 1 occasional paper, 1 book chapter, 3 conference papers, 1 magazine article, and 18 newspaper articles on the subject, drawing on the data from these surveys, have been published.
Public engagements
